DATA CENTER FOR BROADBAND NETWORK
Project Task – Design and construction of a broadband network in NGA white areas on the island of Krk, specifically the construction of a next-generation fixed access electronic communications network in NGA white areas on the island of Krk. As part of the project, the contractor was responsible for the design, construction, and testing of a colocation data and telecommunications hub according to detailed technical specifications. The company MEP, as a subcontractor to Kabel Net and Elektron d.o.o., carried out the construction work on the telecommunications center in a TIER 3
design.
SOLUTION
Our engineers designed and implemented a solution fully tailored to the project requirements, which includes:
- Construction preparation of the room with 90-minute fire resistance
and a modular floor with appropriate load-bearing capacity - Modular UPS devices in 2x(N+1) configuration
- Diesel generator
- 2N power distribution (2N equipment power supply)
- Separate distribution of optical and power cables
- 2N cooling system
- 4 units of 19″ rack cabinets, 42U in height, with metered and
managed PDU units - Hot aisle containment
- Fire detection and NOVEC suppression system
- Video surveillance and access control system
- Environmental monitoring system
- DCIM data center management monitoring system
Quality control and equipment testing result in a satisfied customer
QUALITY CONTROL
After installation and internal quality control processes, a complete factory test of the data center was conducted under full load.
Heaters simulating IT equipment were installed in the 19″ racks, and the entire data center was tested under full load in the presence of customer representatives and supervising engineers. During the test, power outage simulations were performed, transitioning the power supply to the DEA plant and back to the grid. The entire test was documented in accordance with standards.
